Q: Can you believe it's been over 20 years already? What initially attracted you to the company?
A: I joined Messe Frankfurt through a temp service in 2003 and stayed ever since. My journey began with calling visitors to register for Heimtextil Frankfurt. Despite my initial unfamiliarity with the trade show industry, I was welcomed into a supportive environment with ample guidance and a strong sense of teamwork. Over time, I transitioned to full-time roles, starting with a consultancy contract before becoming a full-time employee in 2005.
I held various positions, including Coordinator for the Consumer Goods, Show Manager, and Sales Associate, eventually becoming a Show Coordinator for Interior Lifestyle USA and Techtextil North America. In 2006, I stepped into the role of Data Manager when the company adopted a new CRM. Alongside my professional growth, I pursued a degree in Computer Science with a focus on information management, which further solidified my passion for data and systems. Counting today, it's been almost 21 years since I started and I am proud to serve as the Sr. Data & Systems Manager.
Q: What's the most rewarding aspect of working in data and systems management within the events industry?
A: Knowing that the data, and systems that house the data are essential to us doing business is rewarding in itself. Playing a part in making sure my team members can do their jobs efficiently and effectively, makes me feel really good.
Q: How do you stay motivated on your journey with Messe Frankfurt?
A: My motivation stems from witnessing the continuous growth of our subsidiary and the myriad of opportunities I've encountered. Contributing to this growth and witnessing the tangible impact of my efforts is immensely fulfilling. Moreover, the supportive culture and open dialogue within the company create an enriching work environment that I'm proud to be a part of.
Q: Now, for a personal and fun question: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: I love pasta, I guess it’s my Italian blood. I’ve never met a bowl of pasta I didn’t like. Even though I am watching my carbs.
